Development Company Regency Centers announced on Thursday that a Publix Super Market will be built in Fairhope along the east side of Highway 98.  The Publix store is estimated to be in the neighborhood of 54,000 square feet.  The Publix store will anchor the 84,740 square foot Regency Centers development known as the Shoppes at Fairhope Village.  The 11.04 acre development is being developed on a commercial tract that was part of the Arthur Corte Fly Creek PUD.  The Shoppes at Fairhope Village site is located at the corner of Hwy 98 and Parker Road in Fairhope.

Do you find the Publix being built to be any type of environmental hazard to fly creek?
Hazard probably isn’t the best word to use but I think you will understand what I mean

My understanding from conversations that I have had with the developers is that the Publix in Fairhope is set to open in June of 2009.
